Tell Us About Your Home Selling Experience, For Better Or Worse

It seems every home selling experience is as different as the people involved. So tell us, and the world, how your home selling experience went. It doesn’t matter whether or not we were involved. We want to learn from your experience, and share your experience with others that follow our blog.

  1. Bill & Diana:

Thanks so much for your persistence and professionalism throughout the listing and preparation of our home. You and Diana are a fantastic team, and I’m absolutely convinced all the extra work you did to get our home ready to sell was essential to getting the best possible price in a challenging market. You have our highest recommendation and you can be sure if we know of anyone selling our buying on the east side, we’ll steer them to you.

  2. Last spring, my husband and I needed to sell our home in the Seattle area because of a job change. We decided to list our home with Bill McDonald, knowing that he had a number of years experience as a real estate agent.
The market seemed to slow down about the time we put the house up for sale. Feeling some pressure because of our pending move and, as yet, no bites on the house, we decided to subdivide our house and the adjoining lot that we owned. Thanks to Bill, we were able to navigate the county paperwork tangles and sold the separate lot within a short period of time.

Without having the house sold, we moved out of state to start a new job. When a few more months went by, but no potential buyers in sight, the decision was made to do some minor upgrades around the house. Being a long distance homeowner and getting contractors to do work on our house, was rather nerve racking. Bill knew some reputable contractors and with him keeping an eye on what was going on, we were able to get some needed upgrades done. Bill, also did some additional cosmetic work. That that is not something you normally expect from your real estate agent.

We finally sold our house last month. It was a home that we had lived in for nearly 30 years. Bill’s insight into what we needed to do was invaluable. Without Bill’s professional experience and literal, hands on approach, we might still be waiting for our house to sell.

  3. Last spring we knew that we wanted to downsize from our large home (and large mortgage) but didn’t think we could see our house for enough to pay off the mortgage, and second mortgage, and have enough for a down paymnent on another home.
Bill and Diana came in to meet with us, helped us to make some inexpensive changes to our home to improve curb appeal, helped us stage the interior, and sold our home in ONE day!! And for $60K more than we thought possible!
I can’t say enough about what a help they were. We are happily settled in Duvall in a wonderful home that Diana helped us find within a week of selling our old home. No double mortgage payments!! Great experience!!!

  4. We met Bill and Diana over a year ago. When we first met them, we were at a crossroads with whether to sell our home or undertake a major remodel. Bill and Diana provided us with unbiased advice, taking the time to counsel us on the pros and cons of each option.

In the end, we decided the best decision would be to sell and move to a larger place. Being first time sellers, the Bill and Diana team helped us every step of the way, from looking at the basics such as staging and providing above and beyond the full scope of service by helping us complete major home improvements and upgrades – even going as far as picking up materials and working on the house while we were at work. They provided straighforward and honest advice and guidance throughout the entire process, helping us set realistic expectations for what needed to be completed.

The hard work and their sound advice paid off. When we put our house on the market, we had multiple offers, over the asking price and sold our house in 24 hours. We can’t say enough about what a great team we feel we had in Bill and Diana. They made our selling experience better than we could have ever expected.

  5. Last year I had my house on the market with another realtor for five months when I realized I needed to make a change. Someone I knew recommended the MacDonalds and I was instantly impressed with Bill’s ability to assess what it would take to sell my home. Bill and Diana have a great eye for design, which helped me improve the staging of our furnishings. And Bill expertly guided me as I went through a remodel process on our 1910 Craftsman home. He oversaw the subs and even did some of the work himself, and everything he did was top-notch quality and added greatly to the overall value of our home. My home ended up selling, in spite of the challenging economy and at a price with which I was content.

After we moved into our new home, which Bill helped me buy, he came over and gifted us by installing fans for each of our bathrooms. And both Bill and Diana helped us in many more ways than I could possibly list here, in ways that went far beyond their realtor’s call of duty. I truly cannot recommend them highly enough to anyone in need of an outstanding, ethical, and competent realtor.
